Nestled in a residential zone of the city, Heeley City Farm is a community based animal farm, café and garden centre. It is a fantastic space to bring kids and is also highly entertaining for us older folk. Who doesn't like looking at lambs and giant pigs?

We went to the café for afternoon tea and each had a piece of homemade cake. Flavours included a vegan pear cake, lemon polenta, and I had a sticky ginger cake. They were all quite delicious and clearly made with love and community spirit. Happy cake always tastes better.

Heeley city farm is such a breath of fresh air in the middle of the city. Friendly and genuine staff, always ready to help. The site is amazing, wondering around the animals & the gardens is always a good laugh and makes you feel real & part of this planet.
.....and my favorite are the mozzarela chicken, they look great!

Heeley City Farm is a registered charity based in the Heeley District of Sheffield. It's a place of teaching and learning.

The staff teach local community residents and visitting students, some of whom have learning difficulties, how to grow and care for plants of numerous species. They are also taught how to handle and care for a mixture of rare breed animals.

The farm is open to the general public. You may walk around the farm at your own pace, feed some of the animals with special food bought on site. If there's anything about the farm or it's animals that you want to know ask any member of staff.

The farm has a cafe that sells a wide variety of fresh "home grown" produce, to eat in or off the premises. There's also a garden centre that sells a wide variety of plants, shrubs, saplings, flowers.
